This paper is intended to undertake a study from books and local electricity distribution authority norms, to show that in a rural electricity consumer it is possible and appropriate to find the best possible location for the transformer and measurement equipment. The main task in this case is to minimize the losses due long distances of the low voltage connections to reach the load. During the execution of this work it could be seen that the distribution of loads and the location in already energized properties is very important. In many cases, a defined practical criteria to locate the transformer and meters, doesn't exist. This is a detail that certainly will define the energy quality in the property dwellings and in industrial plants in the farm. Therefore it could be also possible to find a more economical solution on building materials (wires, cables, switching devices, etc...) concerning its daily use energy losses. After the analysis of all the load characteristics and the localization in the property, a computational program was developed. The program gives the best transformer location obtained from the individual load centers location, the demands and load power factors. The program also gives the property average power factor, the minimum power for the transformer to be used. In addition with the distances from the transformer to each load center it is possible to calculate the most appropriate conductor dimensions to be used economically in the electrical circuits in the property.
