Analyzes the hip hop movement at Distrito Federal (DF), having as subjects of the research women with ages between 15 and 29 years who integrate of hip hop movement. It identifies a blank of the female involvement in hip hop events and studies regarding their participation in the hip hop culture/movement. Among the young women who actively participate, the hip hop is defined as the place of identity construction, and where they find recognition. It is about a qualitative research in which we realize groups of discussion, narratives interviews and observations in loco. It concludes that the hip hoppers minas denounce their invisibility and lack of recognition resulted of the chauvinism and racism existing in the society which is reflected in the hip hop. They are consonant in emphasizing that knowledge is the fifth hip hop element and it is their main tool in the fight against racial and gender discrimination.
