The electric energy is an important tool to the country man, developping his quality of life through its use at home or as part of the produtive process. The Rural Electrical Project of the State of Goiás began with the colaboration between The Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF) and the Electric Company of the State of Goiás (CELG). It were attendded during ten years 21,981 farms in 167 cities, totalizating 22,022.978km of net in electric tensions of 13.8 and 34.5kV. The subject this paper was to characterize the electric energy use in three farms attendded by OECF project, in Goiânia, Trindade and Varjão. It was done the checking, analisis and descrition of situations relative to the electric instalation, motors starting, conservation and use of alternative energy source. It was evident that all farms use electric motors to several purpose (irrigation, manufacture of ration, trituraters, mechanic milking, etc). Two farms used electric fences, while only one used hybrid system. It was verified at the farms visited an expressive use of the electric energy, in its domestic usage as much as an input to the produtive process.
