This article describes the initial stages to put in operation a combined system using the technologies of reverse osmosis and photovoltaic (PV) through the accomplishment of a pioneer project in Brazil. Being used sensors and a datalogger, the project intends to collect data regarding the functionality of the PV- powered reverse osmosis plant. As a consequence, conclusions can be reached regarding the installation as whole or individual components of this, backed in the own measurements. Through the analysis of the technical data of the installation one intends to get the optimal design of the installation components for the semi-arid conditions of northeastern Brazil.
