This research hand residues energetic potential evaluation of Pinus sp. timber, generated at Água Clara City - MS sawmills and the forest harvesting residues. To determinate the energetic potential and equivalence with fuel oil and electric energy was applied BRITO's (1993) methodology. Considering the prices and charges of the market, the economical cost was calculated, from them and the implantation and management reforestation cost, were estimated the areas that could be replaced. It was achieved additionally a potential of kidnap carbon (CO₂) analysis. The annual energetic potential of these residues corresponded of 46,2 thousands tons (t) in fuel oil and 147,53 thousands MWh in electric energy. This coming to assure the necessity, the relevance and the importance of a better discussion about this subject, a real practice on regional energetic planning and socioenvironment democracy to Água Clara City and South - MS Community.
