Historically, Demand Side Management (DSM) in France has been restrained by the temporary excess of capacity and the traditional neutrality of EDF's facing the customer decisions. In spite of the global efficiency of sector and tariff system which have been considered a powerful tool of DSM, one verifies situations (market niches) which require specific instruments of DSM. It refers to France Metropolitan, rural sector, and departments over-sea. This paper presents three computational models for decomposition, analysis, and forecasting of energy demand which have been developed for helping the planing and management of these systems. The major goal is to get subsidy for debating and reflecting about DSM in the context of the Brazilian electric sector.
