The present work has as objective simulates the operation and a serie of important maneuvers associated to the equipments of a substation in a sugar-cane processing plant where cogeneration exists, allowing the substation's operator to be properly trained. This simulation is made with the software elaborated using the language Visual Basic. It was used the unifilar diagram of the Usina São Manuel , located in São Manuel/SP. With the signs presented by the program, the operator will have to solve the problems, and the supervision and control of the equipments are accomplished by the own program, with the informations to be emitted by the operator. Some main points were defined for the software's elaboration: the visualization of some examples of substations; operation of a simple diagram; operation of a substation where cogeneration exists; problem's simulation, in other words, events that can appear in the daily of a substation. The analysis of the results show us that: the developed software offers to the user a training of real operation of a substation, allowing the user to accomplish the maneuvers and have an immediate answer, respecting the conditions imposed by the software; the investment for the system's implantation for the proposed training is extremely low compared to the damages of equipments in a substation caused by operator's fails, who probably didn't have a appropriately training
