A current interest associated with the use of biomass fuel for reason environmental or economic requires knowledge of the kinetics and mechanisms of biomass combustion. A thermogravimetric study of the pyrolysis of four different types biomass (bagasse, cane trash, wastes wood and switchgrass - Pennisetum Purpureum Schum) is carried out in both oxidizing and inert atmospheres (air and argon) and with three heating rates (20, 60 and 100 K/min). The obtained results revealed that the chemical composition (type of biomass) and the heating rates play a fundamental role in the kinetics behavior of their thermal decomposition.
