The increase of the global demand for energy is an undisputed reality. The energy production, in its broad sense, is a necessity each more present in our way. It is difficult to image the man living in worthy conditions without the benefits proportionate by the electricity. However, the traditional form of production of electricity of thecountry will not supply for much time this increasing demand. The water pumping question in the rural property, objective of this study, is one of the most important impediments to be solved for the rural area. The local use of the renewable energy sources, through appropriated equipment, reveals as an interesting alternative to solve this problem. In this study it was used local data of speed of the wind. It was still used, formulas to estimate the energy potential of this alternative source and technical catalogues. In the evaluation of the aeolian potential for water pumping in the Lageado Farm, getting itself a monthly average speed of the wind of 3.1 m/s, sufficient to produce energy directly mechanics through weather vanes.
