This paper presents an account of the activities and information collected in the research project "Alternative technologies to the rural area: technological, economic and social aspects", developed in the Iporá Placement Project (Rio Preto da Eva and Itacoatiara - AM). The actions developed in this project were based in the research-action method and are focused in the energetic matters, however the social, economic an environmental aspects of each energetic alternative discussed were always considered and proved to be decisive in the decision-taking process of the project activities. This paper introduces a discussion of the referred Placement in that context and also tries to foster new studies, evaluations and conclusions about it.
