The possibility of Kyoto's Protocol ratification introduces a new perspectives for the international financing of projects that contribute to the mitigation of the greenhouse effect. This work describes the potencial in greenhouse gases mitigation and sequestration in the palm oil industry in Brasil. The analisys is focused on the industrial stages of the process because the intensive use of energy that it represents. Agricultural aspects take place on the carbon off set analysis. Finally a analisys of the potencial internacional financing using the carbon credits from the CDM is made.
