This work analyzes the consumption and cost of electric energy in a broiler chickens house, in two creation cycles. Measures of consumption of fans were accomplished, nebulosity apparel, illumination and feeders during the handling of 10500 birds in a poultry house of 12 m of width, 80 m of length, located in the municipal district of Jardinópolis - SP, in the periods of June to July of 1997 and October to December of 1998. To determine the expenditures with electric energy, of the electric equipments, the prices were obtained in CPFL (Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz). The results of this study show that for the first experiment the consumption estimate, of electric energy activates of the equipments for production of a broiler chickens it was of 0.12 kWh and for the second experiment 0.2 kWh. The expenditures with electric energy for the first and according to experiments they were R$ 0.02 and R$ 0.03, respectively.
