In this paper is discussed the role of Diesel fuel as energetic source in the rural sector of Brazilian North and Norwest regions. It is also analysed some aspects related to biogas generation potential using "cama de frango". This analysis is followed by descriptions about the use of energy cogeneration by biogas. In a third step are done some qualitative approaches of this biogas insertion to replace the Diesel fuel. Finally, some technical, economic and social aspects are showed.
