Abstract

This work refers the analysis of the performance of diesel generators operating with crude palm oil. Based on previous tests of durabilities, performance and emissions accomplished in a diesel-generator of direct injection for 350 hours of test [1, 2, 3], complementary tests were accomplished in motor of indirect injection ASTM CFR Cetano, with alterations in the debit of fuel, compression rate and injection time, providing for the best performance of the motor with that fuel. A comprehensive analysis of the results obtained in these tests indicates the possibility of use of the palm oil as fuel for diesel-generators, with modifications introduced in the motors.
