Resumen

TEIXEIRA, Marcos Alexandre. Biomassa de babaçu no Brasil. In Anales del 4º Encontro de Energia no Meio Rural, 2002, Campinas (SP) [online]. 2002 [citado 07 Mayo 2024]. Disponible en: <http://www.proceedings.scielo.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=MSC0000000022002000100032&lng=es&nrm=iso> .

This paper described the biomass based on Babassu Palm within Brazilian territory not just in terms of quantity as well as characteristics. In the availability analysis, were consider 3 scenarios: corresponding to the amount of nuts produced now a days, corresponding to an optimized collecting system and a simulation considering all national territory. The results pointed 1.67; 4.17 and 10.59 tones per year respectively. In the qualitative sense were gathered information regarding the energetic use of the fruits of this palm. The literature was outdated with the recent advances in biomass use, i.e. the lack of distinction on Superior and Inferior Calorific Power (without no moisture indication). The component of the fruit pointed out equivalent potential to others biomass as Eucalyptus and sugar cane, but is recommended to use each component differently. With the Epicarp (peel) must should be burned in boilers, the Endocarp (wood part) can be used for burning as well as for charcoal making; the Mesocarp (starch flour) and the nuts (high volatile percentage) shouldn't be carbonized. The information gathered leads us to condemn the carbonization of the entire fruit. The paper also includes data focus in the manipulation of the fruits, in order to design processing plants and base for future researches.
