This paper present result of load measurements in Solar Home Systems located in the northeast region, Brazil. This survey was carried out through a partnership between the Photovoltaic Laboratory Systems-Electrotechnical and Energy Institute/São Paulo University (LSF-IEE/USP) and the Renewable Energy Support Nucleus/Federal University of Pernambuco (NAPER). The research look for evaluate relationships between the energy demand and some social and cultural issues, for example, the contact of the rural families with the urban areas, family composition, age group, level of income, habits, economic activity, technical knowledge and ability, etc. The first analyses show that the energy consumption in Solar Home Systems, due its random and complexity cannot be treated as a constant.
