The use of the forest biomass for electricity generation in small scale has been done now just in places where there are restrictions of conventional supply of electric power and abundance of bio-energy resource. There isn´t however, a feasible technical solution for the electricity generation starting from the biomass in small capacities. The commercial technology for the electric power generation starting from the biomass is the steam cycle (Rankine). In the present work, this cycle accomplishes an technical economical study using the firewood as fuel for three capacities, 1, 5 and 10 MW, and comparisons between them. A sensibility study is made taking count the productivity of the forests, the biomass cost and efficiency the equipment cost, and electricity cost in the net. Carbon credits obtainement can make bioenergy systems to improve it feasibility.
