One of the biggest source of energy available in the agricultural area and agroindustries is the biomass. It appears in the form of vegetal and animal wastes, such as remaining portions of harvest, animal manure, energy crops and agro-industry waste water. These wastes can be used by the farmers or agroindustries for the direct burning aiming the production of heat or production of biogas in anaerobic reactors. Parana State has one big development in the agricultural sector, consequntly there is a disposal of biomass wastes (rinds of cereals, wastes resulting from mechanized harvest of wheat, corn and soybean, and others). This work has as goal to determine the theoretical potential of primary energy and thecnical potencial, considering the technologies of conversion of biomass to electricity, from biomass of available vegetal of the Paraná and to compare it with data of consumption of other sources of energy in the Paraná and Brazil.
