In this work, a pyrolysis model is presented in order to describe the pyrolysis kinetics of sewage sludge. Data were obtained from dynamic experiments, at heating rates of 5 to 20 ºC/min and in a temperature range of 40 to 900ºC. A simple first order or near first order can predict reasonably well the final conversion reached, but, in what concerns the weight loss rate, a simple model cannot predict the peaks obtained in the weight loss rate. As it is shown, the best fit has been obtained by a model which takes into account four fractions which decompose independently following a first order kinetics.
