The objective of this work is to develop a computational tool to manage the use of electric energy of the university restaurant (Campus Santa Mônica) at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) acting only in its working practices flowchart. This work has two phases. The first phase consists in the development of a computational program whose output data are related to electric energy use in a unit consumer, in this case the university restaurant (RU), such as: monthly maximum demand, monthly consumption, daily maximum demand, daily consumption, load factor, daily load curves, the value of the electric energy billing, the electric energy cost necessary to prepare a meal. The second phase, to be shown in a forthcoming paper, consists in the development of software using the Fuzzy Decision- Making System (FDMS). The FDMS will be used as an auxiliary tool to manage the use of electric energy in the RU and is intended to act only in its production process, that is, contemplating the menu's choice and the electric equipments' schedules. The FDMS can be considered as a tool that helps to manage the energy consumption.
