The present paper discusses, from a Foucaltian perspective, the historical foundations of the construction of the discourse on inclusion since the new forms of the Regularization of the Modern State in the 19th century. Based on some ideas by Rancière, the Aristotelian conception of democracy - to which we are tributary these days - is reviewed to defend the need of creating a democratic politics focused on the inescapable reality of an impossible and conflict-free consensus. Finally, along with Derrida, we highlight the importance to invite the other - who is always different from us in an unmeasurable way - to join us and weave social and school inclusion practices, based on the logic of an unhostile hospitality.
