Communication is essential to life and inherent in the human being. Through communication, nurses establish human relations. Hence, being lecturers in a higher education institution who value this basic nursing instruments, we felt the need to consult the people involved in the Integrated Curriculum of the Nursing Graduation Course at the State University of Londrina, with a view to evaluating the types and the importance of the communication that has been used in the subject matters in 2000 and 2001. It was observed that, by means of Problematization Pedagogy, the students have used communication as a care humanization instrument.
