Teacher/student interaction is not always easy, which may impair the teaching-learning process. This relation can be facilitated by means of music, since it stimulates the sensory-perceptive brain processes. This study aimed to verify the influence of music in teacher-student interaction and the role of music as a facilitator for the student’s concentration in the classroom. During 5 days, the students were asked to listen to Bach’s "Fuga" at two moments during classes in Surgical Nursing. The room was made dark, the door was closed and everybody was asked to cooperate for about five minutes. Afterwards, all students were asked to express their opinion. Bardin’s subject analysis was used for processing the spontaneously obtained stories. The results showed that music can be considered a facilitator in teacher/student interaction. Moreover, it was demonstrated that music influenced the students’ concentration capacity. Therefore, music was a highly positive element in the teaching-learning process and should be considered an ally in student/teacher interaction

Palavras-chave : music; facilitator; interaction.
