The use of informatics in nursing is inevitable. This work reports how, on the basis of this technology, the Technical Nursing Division of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), incorporated the use of the computer for achieving the network availability of its employees’ work designation. 27 nursing coordinators of nursing of the different wards of the institution were trained. It was noticed that, as a result of the introduction of this activity in the professional’s practice, the nurses are going through an adaptation process for inserting the computer in their work routine.
