The "Breastfeeding Counseling Course", which has been conceived and implemented by the United Nation’s Children’s Emergency Fund-UNICEF in partnership with the World Health Organization-WHO, represents one of the important initiatives towards promoting the qualification of professionals who give care to women concerning breastfeeding by developing skills that will facilitate their interaction with mothers. Part of the Listening and Learning Skill consists of verbal communication techniques for which we sought to give theoretical support based on concepts extracted from the works of various human communication experts.

Keywords : breastfeeding counseling; verbal communication.
