This research deals with the relevance of Health Education inserted in professional Nursing practice and aims to identify users' opinion about educational activities developed in waiting rooms at a Basic Health Unit. This is an exploratory study from a qualitative approach. Research subjects were forty users at a Municipal Health Center in Rio de Janeiro. Questionnaires were distributed among the participants in the activities developed together with the students, of which we analyzed the answers. Users affirm that these activities are very important since they offer a learning opportunity, receiving various kinds of information. Two categories emerged from the answers: 1) to be informed in order to inform; 2) to be informed in order to care. Thus, being nursing students, we noticed the validation of these activities and the need for a real articulation between care and education processes.

Keywords : education; nursing; health.
