Recognizing the importance of education for treating chronic diseases, this study aimed to evaluate the opinion of patients with chronic diseases about the care received in the framework of the Educational program of a Preventive Health Service - SEMPRE. For this purpose, 50 diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension patients were interviewed, who were treated in 2001. What care is concerned, the professionals’ knowledge, competence, attention and kindness stood out as positive aspects. The diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension patients demonstrated their user satisfaction, which allows for an initial positive evaluation of the Educational Program at a Preventive Health Service - SEMPRE.
