Administrative functions demand information, a large volume of which is produced internally, which makes any attempt of manual work impossible. Because of the great volume of material and equipment sent for maintenance, a control activity is necessary. The nurse is responsible for this process, which guarantees, besides adequate functioning, the quality of care delivered to the ill. This study aims to create and implant an automatic worksheet to control equipment sent to maintenance. What methodology is concerned, a descriptive-exploratory study was realized by means of the PDCA process control cycle, a method that allows for total quality management. We observed that this worksheet quickens information search, provides a global view on the entrance and exit of equipment, allows for prevision and provision, better time use by the nurse and statistical control, besides avoiding misplaced equipment.
