The managerial perspective based on instrumental rationality predominates in health services. In this setting, the management communication process is mainly developed as a formal instrument that preserves what is instituted in terms of hierarchy, norms and rules. This perspective has been criticized since it no longer responds to the proposal for implementing a care model based on care integrality, universalization, equity, social participation of users, among other principles. In the constitution of a managerial performance that will consider the worker's and the user's dignity, communication is revealed as an instrument to be re-dimensioned by taking into account the political, social, personal, in short, human dimensions present in institutions. In this sense, this study proposes to reflect on communication as a health management instrument from a dialogical perspective, At first, some brief considerations are made on the origin of management in the capitalist work setting and its inclusion in the health area, emphasizing instrumental rationality. Next, considerations are made about management from a contemporary perspective, focusing on its communicative dimension, in which, among others, the exercise of dialogical relationships, dealing with conflicts, the possibility of making a shared and more creative decision are pointed out and, finally, more humane relationships are established with users.
