The relationship between Education and Society provides a large range of fields of research, like Social Education, Non-Formal Education and Sociocommunitarian Education. In this article, the aim is to establish limits and approaches of Sociocommutiarian Education with other Education fields. First, we argue the epistemological, rhetorical and political difficulties of creating divisions of fields in research. Second, we discuss the possible criteria of divisions in Science of Education, and, finally, we argue the meaning of Sociocommunitarian issues in Education as a research field. We propose that Sociocommunitarian Education researches the communitarian articulations - emancipative or not - expressed by educational processes that aim social transformations. In consequence with this proposal, we need to criticize the concepts of community and educational intervention and we have to discuss the affinities and divergences against the fields of Social and Non-Formal Education.
