The youth and adolescents can decisively contribute to stimulate the society and propose solutions to their problems. However, the possibility of participation depends on the existence of adequated social rooms, where they can develop actions and projects experiencing the participation, the self-organization and the autonomy. This participation is important in the socialization process and citizenship exercise. There is a great tradition of reflection and research in this area in Germany - there, Juvenile Leagues are intentionally planned as pedagogical social rooms. This paper aims to discuss this partipating process and to confront it with some aspects of the theory of Paulo Freire in order to evidence the importance of a participating attitude in a freedom and humanization process dedicated to youth.
