This text is a fragment and a description of the research from the Master's Degree which is in development in the Postgraduation in Education Program, from Federal University of Santa Catarina. The research's goal is to map the appearance of Social Pedagogy in Brazil, aiming to establish relations between that perspective and academic productions in the areas of Popular Education and Social Movements. This text's focus will be to describe the historical path of Social Pedagogy's organization/structuring in Brazil. What marks the beginning of Social Pedagogy's structuring and fundaments in Brazil can be considered the realization, in 2006 and in 2008, of the I and II International Congress of Social Pedagogy. The themes to the conferences, round-table discussions, workshops and essay presentations express, in a first general analysis, the formulation and structuring of the acting areas, both in the practical aspect configurating Social Education, and in the theoretical and professional aspect of Social Pedagogy.
