Abstract

The paper explores some pedagogical challenges involved in building educational models, guiding of the socioeducative praxis latinoamerican. The problem addressed concerns the necessity of recognizing the originality and contribution of the socioeducative's experiences that arise from communities and education agents of civil society -which we call in this text as "social schools for a better living"-, in the construction of knowledge pedagogical social, relevant for regional educational activity. It's postulated that these practices, enrich the citizens's life and facilitate the quality integration's processes, supporting the construction of a identity instituting and participatory in our societies. This point has a historical background in the foundational discussion of the educational system on the continent and has been present in educational thought Latin American of the twentieth century. But, epistemological factors at play in the pedagogical traditions of the region, coupled with socio-political factors that characterize the evolution of our societies, have allowed a steady devaluation of this contribution. The presence of reductionists views of education, its dissociation of the cultural, political and economic; the emptying pedagogical in policies and institutional programs; inadequate recognition of educational professions, are part of the effects that erode the educational development our countries. It's raises then, the reconstruction of a social pedagogic discourse inclusive of knowledge involved in community experience and civic action in Latin America. This will require vitalize explanatory models, descriptive, normative and teaching, to facilitate educational development and participation of educational subjects.
