Currently, in view of the importance of discussion and lack of research and the need for institutionalization of public policies that consolidate the school practices in the prison system, present paper aims gather information about what the inmates think of socio-educational projects developed and the process of rehabilitation in a prison in the municipality of Unai, MG. This was a qualitative study and exploratory. We used the technique of semi-structured interview with of prisoners who also responded to the questionnaire and documentary analysis of socio-educational projects. The socio-educational practices are constantly developed and have provided the motivation and self-esteem of prisoners. The process of resocialization is still challenging, because although the subjects believe in this possibility, that depends on the awareness in society so that the bias does not determine the life of ex-convict.
