Abstract

The economic crisis started in 2008 contributes negatively for becoming the youth a vulnerable group. The most qualified generation, having reached the highest average level of schooling, faces unemployment, poverty and disillusionment in relation to school as a social elevator. This happens when the world population is progressively older, including the Brazilian one. Vanished hopes mean that schooling has lost important support, situation conducive to deep change. As a result, it is necessary a new perspective of education as a whole, instead of the modernity's perspective of the school.
