The master's in education research from the author developed with the young protagonists of the Non-Governmental Organization SOS adolescente from Campinas/SP city in the period from 2007 to 2009 through the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) pointed results as humanizing and emancipating educational processes triggered by participation in the Organization and carrying out voluntary social and educational activities. These processes led them to understand themselves and others as acting subjects, bound by common goals of social participation. The present work intends to start a discussion about changes reaching larger and objective dimensions, as well as the formation achieving the resistance and transformation, not just adaptation. Research data are presented and current reflections anchored in theoretical reference and discussions of ongoing course of doctoral education and research groups.
