The dissertation entitled The Constitution of Social Pedagogy in the Brazilian education, was completed in 2010 at the Graduate Program in Education at the UFSC. The research aimed to understand the historical background of Social Pedagogy in Brazil, its foundations and its relations with the People's Education. This article aims to present the news that appeared in the course of investigation that was precisely identify the origins of Social Pedagogy in Brazil are linked to the origins of Popular Education, in the early twentieth century, had a meaning related to the democratization of school for the population. In the course of history areas become known as perspectives regarding the educational processes in different contexts. Regarding fundamentals, was identified nearby between the ideas of Paul Natorp, an important philosopher that based perspective of social pedagogy in Germany, and the ideas of Paulo Freire, who based with your theory the Popular Education in Brazil.
