Resumen

This study, a result of a Masters dissertation still running, intends to analyze the relations among the scholar space, the neighborhood and the local culture of students that inhabit slum Real Parque, placed in Morumbi region in the capital of São Paulo. The investigation is in course at Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental José de Alcântara Machado Filho (Municipal Primary and Secondary School José de Alcântara Machado Filho), inserted in the same neighborhood previously mentioned. The studied slum faces a process of re-urbanization, in which 1,135 families will be removed, bit by bit, to other regions of the town until the conclusion of popular buildings connected to the Programa de Urbanização de Favelas da Prefeitura de São Paulo (São Paulo City Hall Urbanization Program of the Favelas). This process is being the trigger of deep changes in the school routine as much as in the young inhabitants lives of this slum. The research has a qualitative characteristic that permits a deep analysis of the transformations occurred in this two spaces: school and favela, having as it basis the theoretical-methodological referential of the Oral History and the Ethnography through the perspective of the daily sociology. The project aims to rebuild the history of the slum Real Parque from the life history of the older inhabitants and the history told by the youngsters that are studying or studied at that researched institution. To do it so, eight interviews were conducted involving two teachers, an employee, a former employee, two youngsters that are studying and two youngsters that studied at that school. According to the methodology that was used, the collected data passed through four stages: transcription of the interviews, textualization, transcreation and finally, the handing in of the material to be approved by the people that told the history of their lives. The proposed analysis in this work are supported on the theoretical reflections of the authors José Carlos Sebe Bom Meihy, José Machado Pais, Paul Thompson, Walter Benjamin, among others. The expected result consists in a survey that will make it able to reflect about the challenges and inequalities that still remain in the public school, specially those inserted in the suburbs and slums of the big Brazilian metropolises.
