This article aims to discuss the adolescents' perceptions of public high school on the process of entering the labor market. In contemporary society there is a crisis of values and at the same time a transformation that affects the way the young are entering the world of work. The work is considered by the classics of sociology and educators as vital to the development of society and the individual. In this context we asked young people what it means to be young and what the meaning of work, as well as their expectations in joining this world. To collect the information we used questionnaires and focus groups, as well as our experience with this topic.
