In order to make up a deficiency existent at the school, Programs intended to "train" youngsters for the trade appear in non-formal education, but not often does this speech go beyond "training". Nonetheless, this research aims to describe one of the projects developed so as to "educate" youngsters, seeking preparation for life, which includes their start and management in the trade. To achieve that, our objective is to reflect on how important it is for educators to be sensitized by the urgent need to develop interdisciplinary and dynamic activities intended to manage these "human beings", and, in order to do that, we analyze the "Gentileza gera gentileza" Project, created with youngsters from 14 to 24 years of age who took part in the "Aprendiz Legal" Program, at Região dos Lagos, from 2009 to 2011, which is connected to a non-formal education project offered by a Non-governmental Organization, in association with a Foundation, based on procedures, attitudes and behaviors. As this research is qualitative, approaching the action research that combines the empirical material collected from field study (including conversations, open interviews, commentaries with the people involved, and document analysis of the aforementioned project) with contributions from the bibliographical research, the references that most guided this research were: Alarcão (2003), highlighting the importance of reflective teachers; Freinet's diverse methodological possibilities, analyzed in the light of Paiva's studies (1997); and Fernandes' work (2006 - 2011) on non-formal education, and especially Freire (1996), who emphasizes human values. This research presented evidences that educators must, as a responsible manager, be the mediator and facilitator for these "human beings", and they play their roles by organizing contents and didactic methodologies that can and must be used as instruments to enhance the education of citizens who are capable of understanding and intervening in their realities by means of dialogs, listening, negotiations, ethics, responsibility and creativity, as well as other competences and abilities based on the relationship between the learner and the teacher. Thus, we privilege gentleness, both in personal and professional lives, as a significant element for "good practices" beyond the classroom, prioritizing the participation of youngsters, based on the history of Profeta Gentileza and associated with the personal, social, and, especially, professional lives.
