This study aims at pondering the process of commodification of health services in Brazil and its relation to the productive labor restructuring in this sector. It was found that one of the impacts of the structural capital crisis and the neoliberal policies implemented in Brazil since the 90s is the expansion of capitalist production relations to the health sector. This expansion results in the need for restructuring production in order to increase productivity and profitability, leading to the denial of the right to health care as a common/universal prerogative by supporting a private hegemonic health system. It is possible to conclude that - especially nowadays - social organization supporting public health is necessary and must be safeguarded and assured by the government.
