Abstract

This paper proposes a reflection on some of the theoretical foundations that underpin the field of Mental Health and Occupational Health in Brazil. In this reflection, elements that could help in understanding a gap between the practices in these two fields are sought, seeking to identify alternative theoretical pathways in the treatment of mental health problems and work. The discussions have been offered by a doctoral research conducted in the city of Betim, whose initial data suggest that the review of theoretical bias is necessary to advance in the treatment of mental health problems that affect workers.
