Occupational hazards are conceptualized as work situations that may disrupt the physical, mental and social workers' balance. The objective was to conduct an integrative review about theexposureof nursesto occupational risks. Thesurvey of publications occurred in the databasesLILCAS, SCIELO and PUBMED from 2005 to 2012. Using the key words: "occupational hazard", "nursing", "health worker", we selected 25 articles. There is a constant concern in understanding the risks that nursing workers are subjected. The use of personal protective equipment is outstanding and there is a need for studies from the North and Northeast regions.
