Abstract

Nowadays, a 40 year-old person expects to live at least double of this age with quality and autonomy. Therefore, public policies face deep challenges. However, the social and political responses have been largely focused on behavior and lifestyle. Nonetheless, only a little has been mentioned about labor conditions, distress lived by the working class along their lives, unfair retirement and, among others, premature aging process. Then, from collective interviews (focal group) in Franca, this text aims to discuss the social relations at work, health and aging in the footwear sector.
