Abstract

This article is a theoretical essay that discusses Education in the capitalist context, associating it to teaching precarious working conditions, which causes teachers' health aggravation. Education is firstly discussed and related to the capitalist system of production and the pauperization processes. Then, some information about mental disorders due to teaching is brought, considering the burn out syndrome. The conclusion brings an alert about the necessity of unveiling the ideological manipulations that underlie many conceptions about pedagogical actions and that, do not always, permit the professionals to associate work conditions to the sicknesses derived from them.
