This article aims to present an analysis on the cultural movement of the southern outskirts of São Paulo, especially in the recent years, from the experience of two artistic and cultural projects: "Semana de Arte Moderna da Periferia: Antropofagia Periférica - Week of Modern Art from the Periphery: Peripheral Antropofagia" and "Expedición Donde Miras: Caminhada Cultural pela América Latina - Expedition Where you Look: Cultural Walk through Latin America" (DASSOLER, 2011). Given that both projects were featured by artists and cultural agents, residents of that region, this paper emphasizes the organization of these young artists from the point of view of the uses of the territory, as discussed by brazilian geographer Milton Santos. In general, this paper presents the cultural dynamics of the southern outskirts of São Paulo as a hybrid process, marked by the conflict between the hegemonic rationalization of the space and the emergence of counter-racionalities,that, in place and through the technical systems, are developed in the view of the construction of social and horizontal practices, guided by solidarity and reframing of citizenship.
