This article is an analysis of city life from the combination of two seemingly disparate fields: sociology and art. In sociology, Georg Simmel, one of the founders of the discipline and art, Rational MC's, Brazilian rap group, both had the metropolis as central. The objective is to learn about the peculiarities interpretive modern urbanity, making a parallel between the theories of German author, with the lyrics of rappers. Note: A high overall population being attracted to the metropolis, however, the receptive capacity of these does not cover all that inhabits it. Thus, there are the outskirts, which develop natural interactions with the city, these interactions arises the Hip Hop movement. It can be seen in a music city and unequal conflict. Description corroborated by Simmel, which interprets the conflict as a constant and continuous. The stories show that life in the metropolis is intense and dynamic and should be taken, in the words of Mano Brown as a "challenge".
