The object of this proposed study are the Rites of Passage that now permeate the lives of adolescents and adults in the city of Diadema. We identified similar traits between preparation for college entrance exams or in similar urban-industrial societies and the holding of trials and rites of passage to undergo adolescents and youths of both sexes in many indigenous societies and African descent, to the conquest of adult status . So the preparation for the adult stage begins well before the completion of college. Rites of passage, marking transitions definitive and defining the directions. More than cultural demands the rites of passage are construction requirements and the affirmation of human identity in face of what the world presents us. Before them, we are called to stand, to make choices, to act with courage toward something new, leaving a margin often safe and known.
